But what exactly makes professional whitening so beneficial?  Teeth Whitening at Prince Dental Group Before diving into the benefits teeth whitening offers, we must first understand what it is. Is a cosmetic dental procedure aimed at lightening the color of your teeth and removing stains or discoloration. There are different methods, including in-office whitening and ZOOM! Whitening and at-home teeth whitening kits: Benefit One: Enhanced Appearance and Confidence The first and most immediate benefit is the noticeable improvement in your appearance. Coffee, tea, red wine, and certain foods can leave stains on your teeth over time, dimming their natural whiteness. Professional teeth whitening services in Midway, Heber Valley, Summit County, and Wasatch County can help remove these stains, leaving you with a brighter, whiter smile. This, in turn, can boost your self-esteem, making you feel more confident in your day-to-day interactions. Benefit Two: Improved Oral Health While it might not be the first benefit that comes to mind, professional whitening can also contribute to better oral health. The process of whitening your teeth involves the removal of plaque and surface stains that could lead to tooth decay. By opting for professional whitening, you’re enhancing your smile’s beauty and taking a proactive step toward maintaining your oral health. Benefit Three: Long-Lasting Results Professional whitening offers more durable and long-lasting results than over-the-counter whitening products. Dr. David Prince uses high-quality products and technology that ensure your smile stays brighter for longer. Also, with proper care and regular dental check-ups, you can maintain your luminous smile for years. Benefit Four: Tailored Whitening Options When it comes to teeth whitening, one size does not fit all. Dr. Prince understands this and offers customized whitening treatments to suit individual needs and preferences. Whether you prefer in-office whitening for immediate results or take-home kits designed for convenience, you can rest assured that the treatment plan will be tailored to achieve the best outcomes for your smile. Benefit Five: Professional Advice and Care Lastly, when you choose professional whitening, you can access expert advice and care. Dr. Prince will evaluate your dental health and recommend the most suitable whitening procedure. He can also provide tips on maintaining your whitened teeth and managing sensitivity, ensuring a positive and comfortable whitening experience. Teeth Whitening Near Me The benefits of professional whitening go beyond just aesthetic improvements. It’s about boosting your confidence, promoting better oral health, enjoying long-lasting results, receiving tailored treatment options, and benefiting from professional care. Dental crowns are like tiny little hats for your teeth – except instead of fabric, they’re made of durable materials like porcelain, ceramic, or metal. They fit over a damaged or decayed tooth, restoring its shape, size, and strength. Dental crowns act as a protective barrier, covering the entire visible portion of the tooth above the gum line. They’re custom-made to match the size, shape, and color of your surrounding teeth, so they blend in seamlessly and look completely natural. Plus, they’re strong enough to withstand normal wear and tear, so you can chew, speak, and confidently smile! Pros of Dental Crowns: Cons of Dental Crowns: Is a dental crown right for you? We can help you decide! Schedule an evaluation today, and we’ll recommend the best course of treatment for your specific case. Potential Alternatives to Dental Crowns: Not feeling the dental crown vibe? Fear not! Before donning your teeth with little hats, there are a few other options. For example, veneers are a great alternative if you’re looking to add some pizzazz to your pearly whites. They’re thin, custom-made shells that attach to the front of your teeth, giving you a brand-new look that’ll have your smile turning heads. Ultimately, don’t feel like dental crowns are your only option. There are plenty of paths to a healthy, happy smile- and we’ll be right there with you every step of the way! Dental Crowns in Midway, Utah In short, dental crowns are like tiny superheroes for your teeth – ready to swoop in and save the day whenever your pearly whites are in distress. The Science of Smiling: The Psychology Behind Restorative Dentistry

Welcome to the world of restorative dentistry! At Prince Dental Group, a healthy, confident smile is vital to unlocking your potential and improving your overall well-being. Thankfully, with the power of restorative dentistry in Midway, Utah, we can turn every frown into a bright, stunning smile! After all, smiling is a natural human behavior that’s been studied extensively in psychology, biology, and neuroscience. Researchers have discovered that smiling improves our emotions, behavior, and physical health. With so many benefits, there’s always a reason to smile! Let’s take a closer look at the psychology behind smiling and the role restorative dentistry plays:  The Power of a Smile When we smile, our brains release a cocktail of feel-good chemicals, including dopamine, endorphins, and serotonin. These chemicals help to reduce stress and anxiety, improve our mood, and even lower our heart rate and blood pressure. Smiling also triggers the release of oxytocin, often called the “cuddle hormone,” which promotes bonding and social connection. Smiling can be contagious, spreading happiness and positivity to those around us. Not only does smiling improve our emotional well-being, but it can also positively impact our behavior. Research has shown that smiling people are seen as more friendly, approachable, and trustworthy. Restorative Dentistry and Smiling Now that we understand the science behind smiling let’s talk about how restorative dentistry can help to enhance and improve our smiles. Restorative dentistry is repairing or replacing damaged or missing teeth, improving the function and appearance of the mouth and jaw. By fixing dental issues such as cavities, chips, cracks, or missing teeth, restorative dentistry can help you feel more confident about your smile. A confident smile, in turn, can lead to increased self-esteem and a more positive outlook on life. Restorative dentistry also plays a role in improving the physical health of the mouth and jaw. Restorative dentistry can improve the mouth’s function by repairing or replacing damaged or missing teeth, making eating, speaking, and breathing easier. The Prince Dental Group Difference At Prince Dental Group, we specialize in restorative dentistry, helping our patients achieve their best smiles and improve their overall well-being. 10 Common Myths About Veneers

Veneers in Utah are well-known for their durability, strength, and versatile uses. Because veneers in Utah are so widespread, a few misconceptions have developed over time. Thankfully at Prince Dental Group, we don’t just bust myths about veneers; we excel in veneer treatment! With the most advanced techniques and tools available, it’s easy to be the best cosmetic dentist in Midway, Utah.  Without further adieu, let’s myth-bust veneers:   Myth #1. Veneers are Fragile False! Porcelain veneers are incredibly durable and can survive for years on end. Because our veneers are stain-resistant, they often function better than regular teeth! Regardless, proper care goes a long way. Regular brushing, flossing, and dental visits can significantly extend the lifespan of your veneers.  Myth #2. Veneers Fall off Easily False! Veneers are cemented to your tooth and can hold up for decades. We etch your teeth slightly to improve grip and provide the best results. Even if your veneer falls out, don’t fret. We can easily replace them and lengthen their lifespan by decades.  Myth #3. Veneers are Only for Cosmetic Purposes False! Veneers are a standard procedure for preventing further cracking, decay, and chipping. Our veneers act as bodyguards that provide your teeth with a powerful and handsome ally. While veneers are a popular option for people seeking to improve their smile, their cosmetic bonuses are an extra cherry on top.  Myth #4. Everyone can Have Veneers  False! As great as veneers are, they aren’t for everyone. Those suffering from bruxism, for example, aren’t recommended veneers. Other issues, such as inflamed gums, periodontal disease, and decayed teeth, will need to be addressed beforehand.  Myth #5. Veneers are Painful!  False! There are two reasons for this. First, veneers are minimally invasive. Second, we use a local anesthetic to keep you comfortable, safe, and feeling great. Worst-case scenario, your teeth might feel slightly sensitive to temperature after treatment. Myth #6. Veneers Make Your Teeth Look Unnatural Super false! Veneers are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth. This wasn’t always the case, however. In the past, veneers were often oversized and looked unnatural. Despite its previous shortcomings, veneers have come a long way. Today, they are custom-crafted for the individual. Myth #7. Exaggerated Tooth Filling False! While teeth often require a tooth filling for best results, it is microscopic- hardly 1mm. The front of the tooth is roughened slightly with a medical-grade tool to ensure maximum bonding power. Tooth filling is in no way extreme. Myth #8. Veneers Take Multiple Visits to Apply False! We can apply veneers in a single trip. Although we recommend a follow-up appointment to ensure everything checks out, you’ll rarely need 2-3 visits for veneer treatment. Myth #9. Veneers are Heavy Maintenance. False! Veneers require the same love and care as other teeth- such as brushing, flossing, and the occasional dental exam. Unlike other dental treatments, veneers require no change in lifestyle or dental practice. Once you get veneers, you can continue your daily life as if nothing happened.  Myth #10 Veneers are Only for Front Teeth False! We can place veneers anywhere in the mouth. While the front teeth are a popular destination for veneers, they can be applied anywhere else to fix cracked teeth, bridge gaps, and straighten the smile.    Veneers in Midway, Utah.  Now that you know the truth behind veneers, it’s time to take the next step! At Prince Dental Group, we keep your smile in style. Dr. David Prince and our team of experts are dental veterans dedicated to restoring your smile to its utmost glory.  Why wait? It is comfortable and fast and doesn’t require any x-rays, which means it is entirely safe for adults and children. Affordable Dentist

At Prince Dental Group, we focus on smiles. Providing affordable dentist services in Midway and Heber Utah is one of the many ways we increase the number of smiles we see. We hope to help bring out your smile too.      Helping to Build Smile After Smile in Midway We encourage patients to keep their regular dental checkups because we know this is one way to promote excellent dental health. We want to help how we can with the associated costs. Dr. Prince understands the need for quality dental care at reasonable prices. Speak with us, and we’ll see what we can do to assist you with any low-cost financing options.   Getting Affordable Dentist Services Is Easier Than You Might Think Keeping your teeth in good shape is a great, easy way to save money on dental treatment. It is usually more expensive to treat tooth problems than to avoid them.  One of the best things you can do is brush and floss twice a day. Use fluoridated toothpaste and mouthwash, and visit Dr. Prince about twice per year for checkups and cleanings. Yes, it can be as simple as that. If you keep your teeth in great shape, you won’t need to visit the dentist as often. The fewer doctor’s visits you need, the less expensive your medical bills.   How Much Do Specific Dentistry Services Cost? Every patient is different and may have unique dentistry needs. At Prince Dental Group, we’re able to customize treatment based on your dental goals and our recommendations. Because treatments can vary, so can costs.  In general, some treatment options cost more than others. For example, dental fillings, which are composite resin shaped onto the tooth to correct cavities, usually cost less than dental implants. So saving money on your dental treatment not only includes taking good enough care of your teeth to require simpler, less expensive treatments but also choosing a less expensive option. Dentures might be less expensive, for example, than implants, while both accomplish similar dental objectives. Here is a list of dental services, from least expensive to most expensive, which can be a general guide for costs. Again, costs may vary, so this list is only intended to give an idea of costs rather than specifics: Fillings Dental Bonding Root Canal Tooth Extraction Dental Crown Dental Veneers Dental Implants   It’s also important to note that you get what you pay for. It would be best if you chose dental procedures not solely based on price but also on your dentist’s recommendations and what you will be getting for the price you are paying. While dentures might be less expensive than implants, they may not function as well, look as well, or be as long-lasting as implants.    You’ll Need an Affordable Dentist You Can Trust Of course, no matter how well you take care of your teeth, you never know when a dental problem will arise. Even if you brush and floss regularly, almost anyone could develop a cavity at some point. That’s why it’s crucial to deal with a dentist you can rely on and who can provide you with reasonable dental prices. We strive to provide more dentistry services at Prince Dental Group for less money. We’ll do everything we can to work with your dental insurance provider if you have one. If you don’t have dental insurance, we’ll work with you on any options we can help with.    Affordable Dentist Serving the Midway and Heber City, UT Community Dr. David Prince leads a team dedicated to your satisfaction in service, comfort, and price. Please don’t put it off any longer. Call us today. The sooner we get you started on our quality dental care, the more likely we can keep you in excellent dental health and your prices low. Time is money, after all. And saving money means increasing smiles.

Tooth Extractions and Recovery prince dental group dentist in midway utah dr. david prince dds
Tooth Extractions
Tooth Extractions and Recovery

Depending on how well we take care of them, our teeth can last us a lifetime. When it comes to minor tooth decay, at Prince Dental Group, we stress the importance of restoring your teeth as soon as possible, which is why we will talk about tooth extractions and recovery options. If decay progresses and eventually becomes severe, there might be grounds for a possible tooth extraction. Although decay is a common reason for tooth extraction, it isn’t the only one. Other reasons would include:  Removing one or more teeth from an overcrowded mouth in preparation for orthodontic treatment  If there is a risk of infection or a severe infection has already occurred  Wisdom tooth extraction  Tooth has experienced trauma such as a tough break, and natural tooth restoration is impossible  In most cases, when there is a need for a tooth to be extracted, there is always a tooth restoration available to you here at our Midway, Utah dental office.    Tooth Extractions and Recovery Process Post-Extraction Tooth Extraction Basics  Oral surgeons and general dentists are authorized to perform tooth extractions in their offices. Upon receiving the recommendation for extraction by Dr. Prince, he will decide on a treatment plan and time of extraction. When it comes time for your tooth extraction, a couple of our team members will help prepare you and your mouth for the procedure. For lengthy procedures such as wisdom tooth extractions, we administer local anesthesia and a deep form of sedation such as IV sedation. Local anesthesia will be allocated for regular extractions to ensure no pain during the procedure. Patients will feel some pressure but no sharp pains. Understanding that patients may have anxiety surrounding tooth extractions, we offer minor sedation to help you feel more calm and comfortable in our dental chair.  The tooth extraction procedure will take between 20-40 minutes, depending on the type of extraction and the placement of your tooth. Once your tooth and surrounding areas have been completely numbed, the extraction will begin with an elevator tool to separate the gums from the tooth. Detaching the gums from the tooth will allow for more mobility, therefore a smoother extraction. From there, your dentist will use forceps to move your tooth back and forth until it is loose enough to remove. Once the tooth is removed, your dentist will add sutures if necessary. This procedure is done under anesthesia, so you will need someone to drive you home.    What Should I do After a Tooth Extraction? Immediately after your procedure, a clot will begin to form where your extraction was. It is essential to avoid dislodging the clot. A few ways to prevent dislodging the cloth are avoiding rinsing your mouth vigorously after the procedure and not using a straw. We also recommend that patients hold firm pressure on the area for 45 minutes after the process to help the clot form. Many patients find it beneficial to eat a soft diet 24 hours following the procedure. Lastly, we may recommend antibiotics and pain medicine following a tooth extraction.  A day after your procedure, you should begin brushing and flossing your teeth as usual. You can now start rinsing your mouth gently with saltwater. Lastly, if you notice swelling or have pain in your tooth, place an ice pack on your cheek to reduce swelling and pain. You can expect it to take between 3-4 weeks for an extraction to heal.    When Can I go back to Work or School After a Tooth Extraction?  Typically, we ask patients to take the day off during their extraction to relax from the procedure and wait for the anesthesia to wear off. Time off of work is also recommended because it allows the clot to form where the tooth was extracted — an essential piece of recovery. You will need to request off from work or school depending on the size of the tooth extracted and its placement. You may be asked to recover between 2-3 days, depending on the extent of your surgery.    Tooth extraction can be an extensive surgery depending on the tooth extracted. Our patients must understand the procedure along with recovery tasks and time. For more information about tooth extractions and recovery or to schedule an appointment, call our office today.
